10 down, 20 to go

To-day’s post makes 10 straight days of blogging, a definite first for me. I’d be lying to you if I told you it’s been easy – I blew through that list of ideas about four days ago and I’ve been ad libbing ever since! I don’t blog during the day (there’s that whole work thing), so the last couple of nights I’ve been driving home thinking, “what the hell am I going to blog about tonight?!”
During to-day’s drive home I got to thinking about crafting (remember when I used to do that?) and I realized that I might be able to carve out a little time this weekend to do some sewing. Nothing major, maybe just a bird or two. Or a wee kitten. Since I find it physically impossible to start a sewing project without finishing it right away, I tend not to start them at all if I don’t think I will have time to finish them, which means that if I find myself with a spare hour sometime on the weekend, I will either use it to read, or blog, or do just about anything else that isn’t defined by that compulsion to complete. It probably accounts for why I love knitting so – I can accept that I can’t finish an entire project in one go, so I tend to take it easy and enjoy the process. About this time last year, I had 7 knitting projects on the needles (update? 2 of 7 were actually completed, 5 were frogged. Ouch!); this year, there are a couple of scarves and a kitty blanket, and I’m feeling zero compulsion to start anything else. Process!
I need to follow your lead and slow down with the knitting. I have waay too much on the needles. It gets stressful for me to have all of these unfinished projects, you know?

I have an idea for next November: combine NaNoWriMo and NaBloWriMo. Write us your novel online!
