three things unrelated

1. I haven’t been keeping you up to speed on the saints lately, have I? Rest assured, I’ve been keeping up with the reading, there just hasn’t been anything particularly compelling to report. Hagiographically speaking.
2. The Switchboards Forum, discovered randomly as a result of unspecified blog-surfing serendipity. So much to learn from so many talented and creative women. I am completely hooked.
3. We’ve been through a rough patch of movie rentals recently. We saw four or five films that just sort of medled together into a single amorphous lump of mediocrity (not bad, not great) and I was just about ready for a film to really knock my socks off. This past weekend, we got three of them, all in a row (the last three on this list). About time.
As usual, these are starred out of a possible five:
- The Grudge ***
- Scary Movie 3 *** (this one does stand out from the bunch — it was hysterical)
- Flight of the Pheonix **
- The Ninth Gate **
- The Incredibles ****
- Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind ****
- Man on Fire ***
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is quite possibly my favourite film of all time. Especially the scene under the duvet. oh!
Better I think, to have it close to last on your list to make up for the bad films, instead of the other way around.

I have very much missed your daily saintly updates!
I agree with Sarah: Eternal Sunshine was the best movie I’ve seen in years.

I love your shop!
I have not seen the movie yet but plan to. I have heard good things and bad things. but that usually means I will like it. if ALL I hear is good things then I usually don’t.

Speaking of movies, I made it to three this week: The Interpreter, Crash, and Hitchhiker’s Guide. Crash is amazing, hard-edged, great performances.
