out!

O yes, it’s out! Longtime readers may or may not remember all the griping and kvetching I did around here a couple of years ago while working on a chapter for a book. Well, the book was finally published this month and yesterday I received this little stack of copies:

The book is chunked out into sections (libraries & the web, the library as place, the future of library associations, &c.), my chapter is part of the libraries & the web section and it’s on the use of blogs in libraries and how & why we can embrace the technology/format to better serve our patrons.
Of course, when you’re contributing to an edited volume, you usually have no idea who your fellow contributors are, so part of my excitement over the book coming out is rolled up in the fact that I finally get to paw through the table of contents and read the thing cover to cover! And, indulge me a moment while I shamelessly drop names that the library types amongst you will probably recognize: there are chapters in here by Ernie Ingles, Madeline Lefebvre, Barbara Stripling, Roy Tennant, and Roch Carrier, former National Librarian of Canada.
So, pardon me. I very much need to run off and sink my teeth into this book.
Wow! That’s awesome! Congrats!
