Feast day of Jutta (Ivetta) of Huy, 12th century mystic and anchoress, whose work with lepers was not ascetic enough, so she had herself walled into a spartan little space, close to the lepers. When I was young, I wanted to be an anchoress. Lepers, however, never did make it to my radar.

Oh dear. I won’t rant (I won’t rant, I won’t rant), but I suspect reference librarians everywhere are none too pleased with him.
Also, no mopping yet this week. Hip hip!
You know, I’m a reference librarian and *I* use Bloglines to get daily citations and articles. (I read your site through bloglines!) Later this semester, a colleague and I are offering a session to faculty, staff, and students on using Bloglines and other RSS readers for current awareness.
But really, it’s just another tool, like Google. There will always be power users (like this guy?) and there will always be folks who want/need assistance. I don’t think (well-positioned) reference librarians need to be worried about obsolescence anytime soon.
