civic holiday

It’s been a long weekend for those of us here in Ontario, and a decidedly lazy one it has been for those of us here in this little house. The mister and I have had an average of 11 hours of sleep (each) for the past three nights and have thereby done some much-needed battery charging and general exhaling. Yesterday we rambled about Kensington Market, thanks to Pedestrian Sundays, ate some of the best dim sum in the city, and watched some low-grade neighbourhood skateboarding. It was perfect.
I’ve also been alternating between steady knitting and online euchre-playing and while my euchre score has not seen much improvement for the time I’ve been investing in it, my knitting has. As you can see in the picture, I’ve finished the back of the organic cotton sweater and I feel all proud-like over it because, you see, I’m still new enough to the craft to be excited over having my garment turn out just like the pattern said it would! Also, these successes along the way: thumb cast-on, increases, raglan sleeve shaping, and eyelets. Lookout, I’m unstoppable.
