In fairness, I’ll start by telling you that I liked this book least of the 5 that have been published. So I didn’t expect to like the film much and, well, I didn’t. The story is weak (book’s fault), the special effects didn’t do enough to compensate (director’s fault) and the characters weren’t compelling enough to save it for me (actors’ fault). Not much else to say now, is there?
