The good thing about all this knitting is that I finally have reason to dig out and use all those conference bags that have been thrown into the hall closet and forgotten. You know the ones, the sometimes-nice oftentimes-hideous tote bags they dole out at conferences to hold your program and notes and umbrella and whatever. Well, I currently have 4 in use with various knits-in-progress and about 7 more awaiting a similar fate. Is this license to have 11 projects on the go at once?
One of the conference-bagged knits-in-progress is the second ribbed for her pleasure scarf I started some weeks ago, the project that brought the joy of Rowan All Seasons Cotton and bamboo needles into my life. Well, on Thursday night I pulled it out of hibernation and decided that I didn’t feel like ribbing anymore so I ripped it out and started a simple garter stitch scarf. Garter stitch is the cat’s ass of stitches for me, it’s so quick to provide results and All Seasons Cotton in garter stitch makes a drapey piece of fabric that feels just lovely around your neck. Pictures soon.
The mister was out garage-sale-ing this morning and returned with a decent haul of utilitarian goodies: two little wooden tables (one for the new deck), a chair, coat pegs, a screen for the fireplace and an easel. An easel! Months ago I talked about wanting one for, maybe, a birthday, and now here it is! Happy birthday to me 2 months early.
