multi-tasking?

Here’s a question for the handful (very small handful, like one handful, if that) of knitters who read this blog: can you knit and read a book at the same time, and if so, how? I’m spending copious amounts of time knitting lately, and my library loans are piling high before me. Add to that the book review that is due in ten days, for a 185 pg. book I’ve read 10 pgs. of, and I’ve got a serious time-management issue on my hands. So instead of knitting less and reading more, I’d like to knit and read in equal amounts and therefore need to hear from those of you who have accomplished this. And yes, I am willing to try feats of acrobatic prowess.
I didn’t make it to the Stich n’ Bitch tonight as I had planned and I’m not going to get into why because it’s a good long story that I haven’t the energy to recount today, nor probably to-morrow. You know how sometimes something happens that you really can’t (and maybe don’t want to) compute until you’ve seen it through? This is one of those things.
