Danny Meehan is a washed up footballer who lands himself in jail on a three-year term and gets himself talked into training a team of cons for a single, glorious football match against a well-oiled team of prison guards. Sounds formulaic, and maybe it is, but it’s still a lovely film with a good mix of prison turmoil, sadness, defeat, victory and deadpan Brit-humour.
