a few for you and a few for me

- Had my hair cut on the weekend, after months. Hello, I have bangs. Haven’t had bangs in about 15 years.
- We lived without a stereo for about 2.5 years since our musty little basement wasn’t big enough to contain either of our stereos. The mister went home on the weekend and picked up his old system and I can’t begin to explain how good it is to have music again, music that is not being jimmied through two defiled laptop speakers that is. I never realised how much I missed it.
- I have four vacation days to take this month, before the 25th. Two are scheduled this week so, since I am faced with the rare luxury of a four-day weekend, I plan to take a good, hard run at the list and finish painting one of three stairwells and one of two hallways.
- As a reward for all that sweaty home-improvement work, we’re heading into parts rural on Sunday for an auction.
- I’m on the hunt for a good audio/talking book library. My local public library only lends audio books to the hearing impaired, which is fine, but it means I have no access and there’s no chance of me buying any. As the weather gets worse, my drive gets longer and I’ve reached saturation point with morning radio so I’m looking for something a bit more gratifying. Any suggestions on a cheap online source?
- The library I work at is closed from December 25th to January 4th so I’ve begun compiling a holiday reading list to keep me entertained. On it so far, this and this. Others?
