pangs of conscience

For whatever reason I’ve been on a bit of a retrospective kick for the past week or so. Yesterday I combed through the almost 20 megs of images on this server (having nothing to compare that to, it seems a lot to me) and found three headers for the former incarnations of this page. It was good to remember (and retrace the giant strides I have taken in learning PhotoShop):
· launch of the me pages, August 2002
· new header, October 2002
· redesign, January 2003
It also made me realise what an irresponsible netizen I’ve been not having done any archiving whatsoever, all rotten ethics and from a librarian too. This reprobate lapse made me beat virtual feet straight over to The Wayback Machine to see what was in their database and I found a few pages of scant historical import:
· bibliolatry at launch, June 2002
· index page, September 2002
· homelinks, July 2002
· worklinks, July 2002
All this to say that the forward-thinking minds behind The Wayback Machine deserve all the plaudits they get because if it wasn’t for them my latent net conscience would still be, well, latent.
