costuming

Lazy Sundays are all about waking up at 9:30 am, lolling around in bed and chatting for another hour, eating bacon sandwiches, drinking hot coffee/tea and not having your feet hit the floor until the pm hours roll in.
We went to a rock n’ roll stag and doe last night, where all guests had to dress up as rock stars. Since neither of us are really the costume kind, we left the decision making to the very last minute and happily stumbled upon an excellent place called the Hollywood Tickle Trunk. Except neither of us has ever tried to rent a costume before (not being the costume kind) so we had no idea that the outfits the helpful salesfolk pulled together for us were going to cost $160 to rent. Once we realised this, we scaled back to a hat for Mike and a wig for me and headed to the Salvation Army where I picked up the rest of my costume (and a nice sweatshirt) for $7.
I went as Cher, circa 1963, and tried to convince Mike to do Sunny, but he opted instead for Garth Brooks, on account of the goatee mostly. Which would have been fine except for the fact that he called me “l’il lady” all evening. Other memorable costumes: a Milli Vanilli pair, Axl Rose and Slash, and an excellent Elton John.
