We painted our door red on Canada Day. Seemed an appropriate way to honour the occasion. And while we were doing it, a few neighbours stopped by to introduce themselves, compliment us on it, and share all the red-door-lore they know (like: a red door in Quebec is a symbol of good luck, and a red door fosters harmony according to feng shui). We liked best what Christopher from across the street had to say: “you can tell your guests “it’s the one with the red door.”"
